Travel info
Getting there
Mactan is easily accessible by air through Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB), which has direct flights from many major cities in Asia and daily domestic flights from Manila. From the airport, most resorts are a short 15–30 minute drive away, and taxis are readily available.
Where to stay
We are still working out the preferred rates with a few hotels nearby, as well as Shangri-La itself. Please leave your email in the RSVP form, or check back here by Sept 15 for more information on booking.
Getting around
What else to do
The Philippines is famous for its stunning beaches and warm hospitality. Manila is the busy capital and we don’t recommend spending too much time there, instead we recommend spending your time island-hopping for the true Philippines experience.
Cebu & Mactan
Cebu Mactan is known for its white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, and incredible snorkeling and diving spots. It’s a perfect place to relax by the sea or head out on an adventure. Popular experiences include swimming with whale sharks in Oslob, witnessing the breathtaking sardine run in Moalboal, and canyoneering in the Kawasan Falls.
What Filipino food should I try?
Filipino food is comforting, flavorful, and a little bit of everything — sweet, sour, salty, and savory all in one bite. Here are some of our favorites we recommend:
Breakfast favourites: Tapa (marinated beef), Tocino (sweet cured pork), Bangus (milkfish), Arroz caldo (chicken rice porridge)
Main dishes & comfort food: Sisig - Nico's favourite (crispy, sizzling pork), Kare-kare (peanut stew with oxtail or beef), Sinigang (tamarind-based sour soup), Pancit palabok (savory noodle dish), Adobo (a must-try classic!), Crispy pata (deep-fried pork leg), Pusit (squid cooked a variety of ways)
Sweet treats: Bibingka (rice cake often enjoyed warm), Champorado (chocolate rice porridge, usually with a little fishy surprise), Halo-halo (a colorful shaved ice dessert with sweet fruits, jellies, and ice cream)
FAQs
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by Nov 1, 2025 to help us make sure we give our vendors enough time to prepare the event for all our guests.
Can I bring a date?
Your invitation on the RSVP form will specify if you have a +1. Due to the limited capacity at our venue, we limited +1s to significant others we have a close relationship with.
Are kids welcome?
Your invitation on the RSVP form will include details about children. We kindly ask that if little ones attend, parents help ensure they remain seated throughout the ceremony and dinner. If they become upset or need a break, please step outside so the events can continue without disruption. Thank you for understanding and helping us create a special moment.
What will the weather be like?
April is summertime in Cebu, expect average daytime temperatures around 30°C (86°F), so pack light, breathable clothing—and don’t forget your sun protection!
What should I wear?
The dress code is summer formal. Think light fabrics and elevated looks that still suit a warm climate. The ceremony and reception will be indoors with air conditioning, while cocktail hour will be outdoors (grassy area, weather permitting). We kindly ask guests to avoid shorts or sandals and for girls to avoid wearing white.
Can I take pictures with my phone and camera during the ceremony?
We kindly ask that you keep phones and cameras away during the ceremony so everyone can be fully present. Don’t worry — our photographer will capture it all and you can take your phone out cocktail hour onwards.
